Membership services and benefits
Members are expected to be interested in joining the network in order to advance its mission and objectives. In view of the networks’ character, members are expected to contribute as much as they receive. While several services are for members only, other activities en benefits are open to non-members also, as this reflects our intention of being an inclusive and not exclusive network.
Members
• are included in the list of members as published on the website page;
• have a subscription on the networks' general electronic exchange platform (listserv), which constitutes the network's major information exchange channel and to which messages may be posted (moderated by the coordination bureau);
• receive the Share-Net weekly and all subsequent issues, which is sent out every week/two weeks with news, events in the field of SRHR and HIV/AIDS, new resources, information on Share-Net activities etc.;
• are welcome to be an active member of one or more working groups (WGs) and the related electronic platforms, to which messages may be posted (without moderation). However, members may also subscribe to one or more of these electronic WG-platforms without becoming an active Working Group member (info-only member);
• are invited to subscribe to the monthly HIV/AIDS Update and/or SRHR Update, with a selection of new articles, news and information and new resources, compiled by Royal Tropical Institute (KIT), Department of Information and Library Services, from various (electronic) sources;
• receive invitations for thematic/expert/discussion meetings and other events organised by Share-Net, including the General Assembly Meeting of members. These are often conducted in English but sometimes in Dutch, depending on the invited speakers and target groups. Some meetings are also open to non-members;
• have access to the services of Share-Net's resource centre, which includes all the above but also personal services for documentation and literature search (literature searches are presently no longer free of charge) and substantive as well as interpersonal networking inquiries.
